Filler Injections (hyaluronic Acid and Biostimulators)
Facial contouring with Juvederm fillers in Newport Beach helps restore lost volume & volume loss and improve signs of aging. It shapes specific areas of the face camouflaging areas of excess fat and can also address areas like the marionette lines and undereyes. This process highlights your best features and smoothens fine lines and wrinkles. Lip filler with Juvederm Ultra and Restylane Kysse are among the most popular treatments performed by our plastic surgery experts at E&G Aesthetic Institute.
Juvederm Newport Beach and Restylane fillers are FDA approved dermal fillers that are comprised of hyaluronic acid (HA). This is a natural substance in the body. It absorbs water and helps to “plump” areas under the skin where the filler is used.
Unlike hyaluronic acid fillers, dermal fillers such as Radiesse and Sculptra are biostimulators. They help your body produce its own collagen over time.
Juvéderm injections in Newport Beach can be used in many areas. These include the nose, cheeks, midface, lips, chin, and nasolabial folds. They can also be injected into the temples, under the eyes, and along the jawline. With Juvéderm Voluma Xc, Juvederm Volux, and Restylane, the fillers placed in these areas may last anywhere from 6 to 12 months and some up to 2 to 3 years.

Frequently asked questions
What are fillers and how do they work?
HA dermal fillers are injectable “gel-like” substances made of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the body and in the skin that delivers nutrients and helps the skin retain moisture and softness. Due to its hydrophilic properties, hyaluronic acid adds volume by absorbing surrounding water to “plump up” the area. When hyaluronic acid filler is injected under the skin, the filler adds precise volume that lasts for several months and with some fillers – years.
Non-HA fillers like Sculptra and Radiesse are biostimulating dermal fillers that promote the gradual production of collagen via a series of treatments. Sculptra treatments are a great option for those seeking to improve skin quality and firm and tighten the skin without adding significant volume. Radiesse is a more permanent option that can both enhance skin quality as well as restore volume and/or add definition to targeted areas. Both biostimulators typically last up to 2 years.
Who is and who is not a good candidate?
You might be the ideal candidate for dermal fillers if you’re seeking to enhance facial contours or address signs of facial aging including “under eye bags”, the formation of fine lines and wrinkles, heavy “smile lines”, and/or are interested in restoring lost volume in your lips and cheeks. Other treatment areas include the hands, jawline, nose, chin, marionette lines, and even the buttocks.
In contrast to more invasive cosmetic procedures, dermal fillers have minimal recovery time. Results are visible almost immediately after treatment with final outcomes usually being noticeable within 2 weeks. If you are a generally healthy individual who is looking to augment or define facial areas, the décolletage, hands and buttocks, this treatment is the right non-surgical solution for you.
Among other factors, you are NOT the right candidate for dermal fillers if you have a history of an autoimmune condition, are pregnant or nursing, or are seeking a surgical outcome with non-invasive modalities.
To determine if dermal fillers is the right treatment for you, consult our experienced injectors at E&G Aesthetic Institute for personalized recommendations and treatment plans.
How long do fillers last and when will I see results?
The longevity of the treatment results depends on various factors. Results may last between 6 months to 12 months with some fillers lasting as long as 12 to 36 months before maintenance treatments are recommended.
At your appointment we discuss an expected timeline based on your treatment area and the product selected.

What are potential side effects? What should I avoid after injections?
Some patients may experience temporary side effects after filler injections. These include but are not limited to the common side effects of redness, swelling, bruising or tenderness at the injection site. These effects typically resolve within a few days.
More severe but less common complications can include lumps, asymmetry, vascular occlusions, or allergic reactions.
Things to avoid after filler injections include strenuous activity for a minimum of 3 days, make up application the same day of treatment, vigorous massages to the treatment area for 2 weeks (unless instructed to do so by our experienced injectors), major dental work for 2 weeks (for lip filler), and heated environments (saunas, steam rooms, etc) for 5-7 days.
