Anti-Aging Ingredients and Actions
Melasma is not only an excess of melanin. It also has histological characteristics typical of photoaging
- Melaphenone® molecule: anti-glycation action; anti-oxidative stress action.
- Cosmesome: Encapsulated complex in a conduction system composed of apigenin and phloretin. Works on collagen and elastin synthesis.
- Retinol: Increases skin cell production (proliferation). It helps unclog pores. Retinol also exfoliates your skin and increases collagen production, which can reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, giving your skin a fresher, plump appearance.
- Idebenone: It is the most powerful skin antioxidant presented by the American Dermatology Association and has an antioxidant effect of four times higher than vitamin C and 10 times higher than Coenzyme Q10.
- Glycyrrhiza glabra root extract: This is a plant extract that offers skin-soothing properties. In addition, it can be effective in improving the look of an uneven skin tone. One of its components, known as glabridin, is a potent antioxidant and skin-soothing ingredient.
- Ascorbic Acid (Vitamin C): This is a great anti-inflammatory as well as an antioxidant that helps reduce the signs of inflammation such as rash, redness, and irritation. It boosts collagen.
- Hesperidin: This has been shown to act as an effective anti-photoaging factor by regulating the activation of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and the production of pro-inflammatory interleukins
- Vitamin E: A fat soluble vitamin that is a powerful antioxidant that may is effective at reducing UV damage in skin. It helps nourish and protect your skin from damage caused by free radicals.
Facial Cream for Home Use
- Phase 1: intense depigmentation
- Phases 2, 3 and 4: depigmentation, regulation and control
- Home protocol
Once you are deemed a candidate for this treatment, you will receive the Cosmelan MD kit with an in-office application and to be completed at home.
Cosmelan MD involves a ‘leave on mask’ that is a thin “peanut butter” consistency. It is easily applied and worn for 5-10 hours depending on your skin type and instructions from your provider.
You will be required to follow a strict at-home protocol for a total of 90 days. Peeling and sensitivity may occur for the first few weeks.
The depigmenting cream is a home treatment that complements cosmelan® 1 that attenuates spots and regulates melanin overproduction, preventing their reappearance.
- Enables Depigmentation: Enables the depigmenting result of cosmelan 1 to be intensified on a continuous basis.
- Targets Melanocytes: It acts directly on the melanocyte, acting on the main targets involved in the process of formation of hyperpigmentation.
